كندا لايف – قال وزير العلوم الكندي فرانسوا فيليب شامبين الأربعاء إن كندا تخطط للهبوط بمركبة على سطح القمر في السنوات الخمس المقبلة.
وأعلن الوزير عن استثمار 3 ملايين دولار في العلوم والتكنولوجيا للرحلة إلى القمر بتمويل من وكالة الفضاء الكندية.
وذكرت وكالة الفضاء الكندية أن المركبة الروبوتية غير المأهولة ستهدف إلى جمع الصور والقياسات على سطح القمر، أملًا في جعل المسبار يمر طوال ليلة قمرية كاملة والتي تستمر حوالي أسبوعين وتشكل تحديات تكنولوجية كبيرة بسبب البرد القارس والظلام.
وقالت رئيسة وكالة الفضاء ليزا كامبل إنها ستطرح طلبًا لتقديم مقترحات بشأن التصميم والتطوير من شركتين في الأشهر المقبلة.
يذكر أن تعهد الحكومة الفيدرالية يندرج في إطار برنامج استكشاف القمر بقيمة 150 مليون دولار الذي تم إطلاقه في ذلك العام ويجرى بالشراكة مع وكالة ناسا الأمريكية حيث وقعت الحكومة الكندية في ديسمبر/كانون الأول الماضي اتفاقية مع الولايات المتحدة لإرسال رائد فضاء كندي حول القمر كجزء من جهد أوسع لإنشاء محطة فضائية جديدة فوق سطح القمر.
