قالت خدمات الطوارئ الصحية إن المسعفين استجابوا للحادث الذي وقع في الشارع 6th

في حوالي الساعة 7 مساءً. ونقل مصاب واحد إلى المستشفى.
وإعلان فريق التحقيق المتكامل في جرائم القتل (IHIT) في وقت لاحق في تغريدة على تويتر إن الضحية مات متأثرا بجراحه.
ردت شرطة بورنبي في الأصل على إطلاق النار لكنها لم تشارك أي تفاصيل حول ما حدث.
كانت هناك عمليات إطلاق نار متعددة في أنحاء منطقة Lower Mainland في الأسابيع القليلة الماضية والعديد منها في أماكن عامة مثل مواقف السيارات في مراكز التسوق أو الحدائق العامة.
وتقول الشرطة إن العديد من عمليات إطلاق النار مرتبطة بالمخدرات والعصابات.
العنف في مدينة برنابي
وكانت قبل ستة أيام تم القبض على رجل يبلغ من العمر 43 عامًا بعد إطلاق نار في الصباح الباكر في برنابي أدى إلى نقل امرأة تبلغ من العمر 25 عامًا إلى المستشفى بإصابات لا تهدد حياتها.
في منتصف مارس/ آذار اكتشفت الشرطة جثة محترقة في حديقة بورنبي مع إصابات أخرى مشبوهة. تولى معهد IHIT في وقت لاحق القضية.
لقي رجل مصرعه بعد إطلاق نار في حي سكني في برنابي في فبراير والذي أعقب إطلاق نار قاتل آخر قبل تسعة أيام في المدينة.
