كندا لايف – قال الاتحاد الأوروبي إن سوريا طلبت مساعدات إنسانية للتعامل مع تداعيات الزلزال المدمر، مؤكدا أن العقوبات التي فرضها على الحكومة السورية ليس لها تأثير على قدرته على المساعدة.
وأوضح مفوض الاتحاد الأوروبي للمساعدات الإنسانية، جانيز لينارتشيتش، الأربعاء، أن سوريا طلبت كل شيء من مساعدات البحث والإنقاذ إلى الأدوية والغذاء.
ونقلت رويترز عن المسؤول الأوروبي قوله إن الاتحاد الأوروبي يشجع أعضاءه على المساهمة، ونفى أن يكون للعقوبات تأثير على إيصال المساعدات الإنسانية.
تخضع سوريا لعقوبات الاتحاد الأوروبي منذ 2011. وتشمل العقوبات تجميد الأموال وحظر السفر على مئات الأشخاص والكيانات.
ومن جهتها، قالت الخارجية الأميركية: “لن نعرقل تقديم أطراف أخرى المساعدات عبر الحكومة السورية”.
وذكرت وسائل إعلام رسمية سورية أن أكثر من 298 ألفا اضطروا لترك منازلهم بسبب الزلزال المدمر الذي ضرب البلاد هذا الأسبوع.
وذكرت الوكالة العربية السورية للأنباء نقلا عن حسين مخلوف وزير الإدارة المحلية والبيئة أن الدولة فتحت 180 مأوى للنازحين.
