أعربت كندا عن أسفها إزاء سوء الفهم الذي حدث مع الصين وتسبب به أحد دبلوماسييها. وتعود القصة إلى إعادة دبلوماسي كندي تصميم شعار فرقة هيب هوب أميركية (Wu-Tang Clan) والتي تتخذ من الخفاش شعارا لها.
حيث أزل الدبلوماسي اسم الفرقة (WU-TANG) المكتوب عن الشعار، ووضع مكانه كلمة (WUHAN)، في إشارة إلى مدينة ووهان، التي يعتقد البعض أنها مهد وباء كورونا.
وقدمت الصين شكوى رسمية إلى الحكومة الكندية على خلفية الأمر. وقال متحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الكندية لوكالة “رويترز” أمس الثلاثاء: نحن آسفون لسوء الفهم هذا.
وقدم المتحدث فرضية جديدة، مؤكدا أن شعار القميص الذي صممه أحد موظفي السفارة لا يمثل الخفاش بل حرف W، مشيرا إلى أن التصميم منح لأعضاء السفارة الذين عملوا على إعادة كنديين من ووهان في مطلع عام 2020.
ولم يتضح كيف انتشرت صورة القميص على شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي، غير أن السفارة الكندية قالت إن قصة القميص تعود إلى العام الماضي.
وأثارت الصورة ضجة على شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي في الصين، خاصة على موقع ويبو الصيني الشبيه بموقع تويتر، خلال الأيام الأخيرة.
واشار المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الصينية الى أنه صدمنا للغاية من جراء هذا الأمر، وقدما احتجاجا إلى كندا، وطلبنا بإجراء تحقيق شامل، مؤكدا أنه لا ينبغي ربط دول أو مناطق بعينها بالفيروس.
وتبدي الصين حساسية شديدة إزاء مصدر الوباء، وتشكك في الفرضية التي تقول إن الفيروس نشأ في أراضيها.
