في مؤتمر صحفي يوم الجمعة، قال ترودو: إنه لا ينبغي لأحد أن يخطط لرحلة دولية وحذر من أن حكومته قد تنفذ إجراءات جديدة دون سابق إنذار.
قال ترودو: “يمكننا اتخاذ إجراءات جديدة تعيق بشكل كبير قدرتك على العودة إلى كندا في أي لحظة، دون سابق إنذار”.
وأضاف رئيس الوزراء إنه ناقش هو ورؤساء وزراء المقاطعات “عددآ من الخيارات المختلفة” التي يمكن فرضها لمزيد من الحد من السفر والحفاظ على سلامة الكنديين.
وقال ترودو إنه سيتم تقديم مزيد من المعلومات حول القيود المحتملة في الأيام المقبلة، لكنه ألمح إلى إمكانية فرض الحجر الصحي في فنادق.
مع اقتراب عطلة الربيع، حذر أيضًا من أن الكنديين لا ينبغي أن يخططوا للسفر عبر البلاد أيضًا.
قال ترودو: “يحتاج الناس إلى الاحتماء، والبقاء في المنزل. والتأكد من أننا نوجه الموجة الثانية من الفيروس حتى نتمكن من الوصول إلى الربيع”.
