كندا لايف – يقوم المنظمون في الولايات المتحدة وكندا بالتحقيق في تفشي التهاب الكبد A الذي قد يكون مرتبطًا بالفراولة العضوية الطازجة.
في بيان مشترك مؤخرآ، قالت إدارة الغذاء والدواء الأمريكية ووكالة الصحة العامة الكندية إن الأمراض في مينيسوتا وكاليفورنيا وكندا حدثت بعد أن تناول الناس فراولة FreshKampo و H-E-B التجارية.
قالت الوكالات إن الفراولة تم شراؤها بين 5 مارس و 25 أبريل. تم بيعها في العديد من تجار التجزئة الأمريكيين، بما في ذلك Aldi و Kroger و Safeway و Walmart و Trader Joe’s. في كندا، تم بيع الفراولة المصابة بين 5-9 مارس في متاجر Co-op في ألبرتا وساسكاتشوان.

التهاب الكبد أ هو فيروس يمكن أن يسبب أمراض الكبد وفي حالات نادرة فشل الكبد والوفاة. يحدث المرض عادة في غضون 15 إلى 50 يومًا بعد تناول أو شرب طعام أو ماء ملوث. تشمل الأعراض التعب والغثيان والقيء وآلام البطن واليرقان.
قالت إدارة الغذاء والدواء الأمريكية إن المستهلكين الذين تناولوا التوت المحتمل إصابته في الأسبوعين الماضيين ولم يتم تطعيمهم ضد التهاب الكبد أ يجب عليهم استشارة الطبيب على الفور.
