كندا لايف – يقول مستشفى SickKids إنه تم الإبلاغ عن سبع حالات محتملة من التهاب الكبد الحاد الوبائي في مستشفى وسط مدينة تورنتو للأطفال.
أعلن المستشفى إن الحالات “من أصل غير معروف” لكنها تتوافق مع “تعريف الحالة المحتملة للصحة العامة في أونتاريو بين 1 أكتوبر 2021 و 30 أبريل 2022.”
وتأتي هذه الأخبار في ظل ورود تقارير دولية عن أطفال مصابين بهذا المرض يتسبب في مرض كبدي حاد الوبائي ومفاجئ، وغالبًا ما يكون سببه فيروسات. تتراوح أعمار الأطفال المتأثرين حتى الآن من شهر واحد إلى 16 عامًا.
أوضح مسؤولو في مستشفى SickKids إنهم يبحثون عن مرضى يعانون من علامات وأعراض التهاب الكبد مثل ظهور اليرقان الجديد، اصفرار في عيون، لون البول الداكن/ أو البراز شاحب، الذي سيتطلب مزيدًا من الاختبارات. قالوا إنهم يوصون أيضًا بعتبة أقل للإحالة للرعاية المتخصصة.
قال متحدث باسم المستشفى “كل عام، ترى في مشفى مرضى مصابين بالتهاب الكبد الحاد مجهول المصدر، والذين قد يأتون، مثل بقية المرضى، من جميع أنحاء أونتاريو وكندا”.
وأضاف “يبقى أن نرى ما إذا كان هذا الرقم يمثل زيادة في الحالات مجهولة المصدر مقارنة بفترات زمنية مماثلة في السنوات السابقة أو إذا تم تأكيد أي من هذه الحالات بسبب عدد الاسره الجديدة.”
حدثت معظم حالات هذا المرض في أوروبا. تم تسجيل أولى حالات الإصابة في المملكة المتحدة في يناير، بينما اكتشفت الولايات المتحدة أولى حالاتها في أكتوبر في ألاباما.
يحدث الالتهاب الكبدي عادة بسبب واحد من فيروسات التهاب الكبد العديدة المعدية، مثل A و B، والتي لم يتم العثور عليها في الأطفال المصابين.
